Florida's sandy soil struggles to retain water, nutrients, and microbes, leading to costly waste. Growers rely on endless fertilizer and water inputs that are often washed away in heavy rain or lost during droughts. The result is an unhealthy cycle of expense and disappointment.

For decades, the only options for dead groves have been open-air burning (releasing CO2) or expensive hauling to landfills (creating methane). This process creates massive pollution, eliminates the chance to reclaim the carbon, and offers no economic return.

Without a viable way to restore its structure, acreage damaged by disease or natural loss is often abandoned. This results in farmland being taken out of production, weakening local economies, and leading to greater development pressure. Farmers struggle to recover value from their biggest asset.
